Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Why does everyone think that it can only get worse here?

I haven't been at HON for a long time, but for now I don't have as many complaints as those who have been here for a long time. When long-timers start talking about how they think it will only get worse here, it is very demotivating.

I know of at least 5 positions which were never replaced. Terrible company.

Honeywell almost NEVER replaces people when they leave or get fired. It’s unreal. I started there around 7 years ago and something like 75 people have left. I think about 10 of those have been re-filled. I sh-t you not. They recently fired two SBLs and dumped all the work on my boss and expanded the region. She took it with no extra pay. She’s working 80+ hours per week and sounds sick. They don’t care. When she quits, they’ll try to dump it on someone else. Unbelievable if you’re not there to witness it yourself. They also lie to customers all the time. I’m planning to leave in 2023 because I can’t work there anymore with a clear conscience.

When you realize the merit increase is offset by mandatory furloughs, you start looking for a new job the next day.

Haha, my director always pulls me aside when we have a new employee (particularly young ones) to remind me to keep my mouth shut and let them discover for themselves they have been lied to. I hate being dishonest but I know he will make my life harder if I am open although it should be glaringly f*ckin obvious within a couple of months to anyone with a brain.

Everyone says it will only get worse because it only ever gets worse.

Awful company.

@3mrh

Exactly WHAT shocks if I may so inquire?

Even though it does not seem possible, I absolutely guarantee it is going to get worse. There are some big shocks coming in 2023 and as others have stated before... Honeywell will be a very different company in 2024. I have quietly advised all my reports to start looking for new jobs.

I was at Honeywell for more than ten years. I can tell you that every time I thought it couldn't get worse, it did. DA and his a$$ clowns always find a new way to abuse, gaslight, demoralize, and pi$$ off the people that do actual work. It will continue to get worse. There is no leadership in the ALT or the e-suite, just a bunch of stupidly greedy managers that will sell your soul for penny if given the chance. If you don't meet the diversity guidelines of being female and non-white, you're life will continue to get more miserable from here.

I was at Honeywell for 4 years, it took me 1 year to realise something was not right and this was in 2018. From 2019 onwards the business starting going really off the rails however I was still earning well so stuck with it. It then just became unbearably unprofessional and completely irrational for the final 2 years to the point that I realised this was not just a company falling apart but one being intentionally dissected. The purpose is to extract as much capital in the short term to reward the Chief Executives who will flee in the next 3-4 years. Honeywell WILL be broken up, there is no other avenue. If you have not figured Honeywell out within 2 years you are their ideal employee.

OP are you sure you've been at HON for a long time? how long is a long time to you? By Honeyhell time, 6 months equates to at least 3 years of your life. this place has sucked the life out of many people. I was there 8 1/2 years and feel I've aged at least 2-3x that time. been out for a few months now and it's been the least stressful time I've had in ages.

Get out now before it's too late. Honeywell will suck your soul or kick you to the curb. Just a matter of time.

You have to keep in mind HON is a huge, disorganized place and grew by acquisition, so people’s experiences are going to vary wildly based on where they work.
