Yes I'm a contractor (though not from the US/UK) and have been told they will be terminating my contract early. I'm lucky enough to have a manager who gave me a heads-up about this since Oct last year so it wasn't a surprise to me. Didn't even realise I got a HR webinar invite because I wasn't monitoring my Gmail, until HR personally called me lol.
Yes, some contractors were affected.
Anyone's guess, since they typically don't share their termination with employees
