If your manager told you will get promotion for next level position after year end review, how much is it true cause I have only been with WF for a little over one year.

Honestly when I worked there they all preached how they moved up from tellers to bankers to managers blah blah. You have to drink the Kool aid and be on DMs good side to do anything. I was up for a promotion even got told by the manager who was going to hire me that I got it. 2 weeks later the position was 'eliminated' I spent 4 years trying to get that one open role and poof gone. My advice don't waste your time trying to impress a company who sees you as a replaceable pawn.
What is your current title and what would you be promoted to? That has a lot to do with it as well. Moving from some low level associate to a straight position is easier than say from a Lead to a Senior Lead.
wondering same
Hahahahahahaha! Hahahahahahahaha! Su---r.
why is it easier to get a raise at 1year instead of 10 years at the co?
Depends. If your manager is close with you and respects you. I've had 4 promotions since 2017.
Wells Fargo employees, join the effort to unionize across Wells Fargo. The Committee For Better Banks and workers at Wells Fargo are organizing Wells Fargo Workers United. Wells Fargo does not treat its employees any better than it historically treats its customers and the only way to fix Wells Fargo's abuse of its customers and employees is for workers to organize and demand a voice in how the company is operated.

Verbal confirmation means nothing at WF. If it’s not on paper, it never happened. Also, even when something is on paper (ie. WFH agreements) it can be revoked at any time. So essentially wait until the check hits your bank account. Until then, take it as a grain of salt. Now, let me sip my coffee. proceed to provide a crooked, unwarranted smile
It means you have to be excellent not just because you've been there for at least 1 year.
We have put up a handful of people. They require you to be consistently exceeds but it is still a chance to get approval. When it happens the raise is no more than 10 percent and you cannot get more then a meets for one year. You can take that to the bank for COO roles.
i made that mistake once, looked liked everything was good for promoting an employee and indicated to that person a couple weeks prior that it was looking like we'd get them promoted then when I pulled up their comp page the promo did it happen, leadership changed it last minute.
1 yr. employee, yes. 10 yr. employee, no.
Most managers don't say a thing unless they know it's certain. Or they should. Same with compensation in general
If your manager is a decent person and they have been upfront and honest, you can have some confidence. Managers that communicate things they cannot do or have no intention of trying to do are horrible and shouldn't be managers. This will be a good indictor for you if you work for someone decent or not.
“Well due to unforeseen circumstances blah…blah…situation out of my control….yada…yada….HR has the final say but I did what I could…..etc…”
