Thread regarding Goldman Sachs layoffs

Can I consider myself safe if I still haven't received a notice?

Sorry for the d-mb question, but I haven't been here long so I still don't know how things work here. If I haven't received notice so far, can I consider myself safe or will the uncertainty last until the end of the week? How did you get notified?

You’re never ‘safe’ from a layoff. Always have 6 -12 months worth of cash saved for bills, rent, mortgage, etc. as soon as you think you’re safe, that’s when something bad happens.

according to many news reports, the layoffs are being completed over next couple of weeks.

But once they start layoffs and the media reports that we are in fact in the beginning of a recession, that is when you know we’re really in the start of the 2nd Great Depression.

You can’t stop what’s coming.

Hard to say. They could do another soft layoff at anytime for any reason. Always have an exit strategy.

But this is the way is it everywhere. FWIW, the economy is in collapse, things are only going to get worse. Don’t buy any big purchases.
