Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Take the full severance or use this consulting company to try and get rehired/new job?

What should I do? (new hire within last year with MBA)

I agree with @4rvf+1kE27Xa3. If returning to Intel within 1 year, must repay at least a portion of severance. I think it is a 1 yr waiting period to come back as a contractor. Check FAQs for sample document. Seems consistent with what has been done in the past.

To all the folks being jerks… pretty sure there’s language in the paperwork that says if you come back to intel within some amount of time you have to repay severance. Can’t remember if it is only if you cone back as a bb or if gb counts too. So the obvious “and” scenario is out.

I think I’d do everything I could to stay, tbh. New hire mba severance is going to be low. If there’s another gig at intel you can move into and ride out the job market, do that. But after you get your new gig, keep actively looking and leave on your own terms when something comes along. Cuz this ain’t gonna be your only redeployment/layoff if you stick around.

Excuse me but how can an MBA ask such a question? The simple analysis required to answer the questions is orders of magnitude easier then the analysis required for even a base level Harvard Business Review case. Please be sure your manager doesn't find out that you made this post.

What the heck are you talking about? Take the full severance OR use a consulting company to get re-hired? If you're getting laid off, then you take the full severance AND you use a consulting company to get re-hired, wherever that may be. You literally fit the profile of a new hire MBA. I'd say more, but this site censors anything that might upset snowflakes like you.
