‘It’s a nightmare’: Twitter’s New York City janitors protest over sudden layoffs

Laureta is one of the twelve janitors who worked at Twitter’s office in New York City who are now protesting against the social media company’s sudden decision to lay off all janitors, who were employed by contractor Flagship Services, the latest layoffs at Twitter since Musk acquired the company on 27 October 2022.

If there is no work then there is no need for janitorial service. What is the issue? You expect to keep paying for a service they do no need.

Typical touchy feeling story. Tell me all about person so and so and how it impacts them. Let's not focus on details.

"... the contract with their employer and their jobs were terminated." So, Twitter isn't using that vendor anymore. That's on the vendor. And these aren't twitter employees.

Honestly, Musk is crazy to retain any presence in New York. The state and city taxes are a rip off as is the overpriced real estate.

Twitter could be operated from anywhere in the country. Save your self money and headaches by getting out. Sounds like a smart move to me.
