Why does this place no longer need good performers?

That is a question to which I have no answer. It is incomprehensible that any company decides to keep the biggest slackers at the expense of excellent employees, as is the case here.

Yeah that's been one of the biggest rubs for me is the performance piece... after 19 years with a consistent track record and a very high performing team in 2022, it's something I did not deserve. There are plenty of employees in my same position who did not even put in half the effort or have the skills that I do. I still think that the 12 week lead cohort program put us on the radar! I even put that as my opening statement on the journal they gave us with the course my fear was that that we were going to be cutting people loose in this program was being used to figure out who.

I agree… the people they decided to cut from my team was ones with high potentials and the most problematic person stays in the company. Why didn’t they just let management decide who they would let go.
