Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Chevron Disfunction

Pretty sad that a layoff site is Chevron's best source of information for those people who were not laid off. Even more sad is Chevron HR monitoring and trying to influence in a positive light when they have no light to shine. Is this not the definition of disfunctional company?

@czl If someone disagreed that strongly with company policies why would they even hire on at CVX in the first place? You would think that they should have done a little research on the company beforehand.

Inside scoop on Anchor project team is that it is a total disaster. You heard it here first.

HR is the strongest organization in Chevron. Without them we would never make any money.

HR monitors every post. They check any company electronics from accessing the site.

They spin the results on here and drive the up/down votes on some. Just like PollEV. They drive down and remove the posts they don’t like or want to see. I know the project manager in anchor sought out and made an example of someone he didn’t like the post of on PollEV.

Your manager is collecting information on you. If you appear as "too nosy", or a malcontent (defined as anyone who disagrees with any company policy, or even someone who suggests improvements), you'll be elevated on the layoff list. The vast majority of Chevron managers only want yes-persons and people who generally say nothing.

It’s not the best source of info. Talk to you’re manager, most are very transparent.
