Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

HCL has numerous issues; why were they selected?

Wow, HCL has a lot of problems, but despite this, and as explained below, they were chosen for this outsourced job.

It's odd that a risk-averse company like State Farm would want such a dubious company to take over the infrastructure that keeps our business afloat and cover it up to save 500 million of our 130 billion worth. If the infrastructure fails, we're screwed, so why would you trust this worthless offshore non-American company?

After having worked with HCL offshore employees for over a year I can speak with 100% confidence that there is no way this will end well.

2 words. Data espionage

Exploring provate health and personal data and profiting and calling it risk management. And reducing tech debt. For “future”. And so called innovation. Pain in neck

I work in ET lol and people saying that there are incapable people are right. I am relatively new and I was extremly surprised how little senior engineers and internally promoted employees knew technically.

ET is mostly full of useless people who don’t know what they’re doing anyway anyway, so I won’t miss them.

outsourcing to another country is NEVER A GOOD THING, but here come the defenders trying to tell you why eliminating jobs is a good thing... , dont kid yourself outsourcing jobs is a step to reduce labor expenses by having cheap labor.

Nothing wrong with the notion that an American company based in the US and that works in the US should have workers of the US and not some other country.

Most of you are so lame. If you understand market, customer and expense..u wouldn't have talked about this. 80 pct of ET staff don't know the outside world. How can they understand the market perspectives and what industry trends are? Atleast HCL employees have much broader sense and technology perspectives on any day than ET staff. That will hurt many but that's the ground reality.

Yeah, bogus bachelor's degrees in India are pervasive, and the Indian government conceals this nonsense. Are we going to travel there to confirm? No, of course not, so stop telling us about master's and bachelor's degrees. Most, if not all, of us in IT have them, and look what still happened, outsourced.

They were cheap. You work here right? Youve seen the non stop quantity over quality for the last like 10 years here right?

My guess is that they had a long talk with the offshore company, decided they could handle the future request for licensed claim handling and underwriting and decided to test the waters with them with something simple like tech support.

Price and quantity.

Which one do you think they should’ve chosen? All similar companies, from Accenture to HCL, have the same controversies/lawsuits.
