Thread regarding Toronto-Dominion Bank layoffs

Working at TD Bank

I'm just curious what it's like working at TD Bank, especially if you're not in a public facing role in the US.

If you don't mind limited career advancement and are simply looking for a place to hang out and do just enough to stay employed, TD may be for you. Hard working motivated individuals will get frustrated by the politics and focus on DEI instead of their actual business of banking. I quit shortly after the annual wow awards event included drag queens twerking, what a joke for a professional environment.

There is definitely favoritism amongst diverse candidates. I have seen more diverse candidates get promoted or hired in a higher levels so there is definitely a bias against straight white males and it seems like that trend applies to white females now too.

If you don't mind long hours in a thankless job, it's great. There is a focus on DEI which means if you can check a few boxes next to your name, you are likely to get promoted more quickly. This is no time to be a straight white male at TD so if you fit into that demographic you may want to look elsewhere.
