sales are down as it's been reported in the past few days on Yahoo Finance, same with HP though HP is in first place and Dell is second.

@xjx+1kJpU4PE Current employee here.
Nobody knows what is happening.
Sales are way down across the board.Some teams have been canned before the holidays and you only find out when you email that team and get no response.
You have to be very naive to think the whole tech industry is struggling but Dell somehow has managed to survive without any large layoffs.Do I think there is a large layoff happening?Who knows but targets will raise and when nobody is getting bonuses people will go elsewhere with Dell having very little to pay out in packages.Think about it.Why automate systems and have staff work less and keep paying out on a massive wage bill?It wouldnt make sense.Huge difference between being negative and realistic.
Also the Billion $ fine has to be paid out.Agree a lot of people on here talking rubbish but it is just a matter of time.

Wednesdays. Dell executes these things on Wednesdays. Always has.

Not saying I know of an event happening, but the mid week thing is one constant I have seen for years.
