Some think that the prerequisite for changes for the better at Cisco is a new CEO. Maybe so, but I think it's a bit late for the significant changes that this company needs.

To steal a line from Elon Musk, “no one who could do the job would take it.” Cisco’s culture is so deeply flawed I don’t think anyone could do the job. The same goes for the “talented technical leadership that does not exist today” from a reply in this thread.
Cisco is a second tier legacy company that will plod along for ages. The idea that it will come up with another couple hundred billion worth of value implementing an idea no one else could compete against or even be able to execute on an acquisition to do this is fantasy.
Viva la millions of bugs, inconsistent CLI and licensing problems, none of which were directly produced by the ELT.
A new CEO should definitely be from outside Cisco who HATES long-tenured employees who stay at one single company for more than 10 years, and soon will remove them. Those people are sick and absolutely the cause of its toxic culture and childishness without any skill.
"A new CEO will clean house of the clueless ELT"
Can I borrow your crystal ball please?
A new CEO is a necessary but not sufficient condition for the company to survive in the medium term.
A new CEO will clean house of the clueless ELT and all their useless VP's and Directors and then bring in some talented technical leadership that does not exist today
A new CEO would announce another round of layoffs to implement his/her new plan.
After that layoffs, he/she may then hire what deemed as productive.
