Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

L3Harris Layoff Londonderry NH January 10 2023 with majority of layoffs over age 40.

Clearly age discrimination when their recruit advertising states for “New Grads”.

Another leadership shuffle at Space and Airborne Systems in Clifton. Directors are playing musical chairs because none of them seems to know what they're doing. The only thing they're good at is driving talent away. It's no wonder the company stock has fallen over 20% in the past year and shows no sign of recovering. Virtually every program is over budget and behind schedule. Some of them have been halted altogether because of workmanship problems and test failures. The Clifton facility has put a freeze on hiring. The only positions open are for directors which the company seems to have a hard time filling.

The keen young bobblehead and bootlicker are preferred ... cheaper and more malleable. This is being done across the board in the aerospace industry. Much like the insane Zedong's Cultural Revolution.

This information DOES find its way to investors and investment firms AND those of us who make investment decisions. This information also makes its way to the government who uses this information to determine the decisions behind the how's and why's L3Harris pays executive compensation, why programs are failing miserably across the board, etc... All of us on the outside looking in simply look at how long a manager, director or VP has been in their position and this gives us a great starting point to "short" L3Harris stock, where the corporate practice variances are in relation to treatment of costs within the divisional/sector disclosure statement (causing cost tracking and accounting issues means audits). All a person on the outside needs to do is look at L3Harris' prime and sub-programs before Biden's Afghanistan pull-out and what these program look like two years later -they barely exist and certainly do not perform well. There's only so much business to go around and L3Harris is definently not on the top of everyones "list".

I was told years ago while working as a temp that they wouldn't hire me because of my age. Then as younger workers came and went they finally hired me direct.

It's too bad this information doesn't find it's way to potential investors. This kind of publicity would shave billions off their market cap. Taxpayer money should never be spent on such a corrupt government contractor. Maybe it's time for some government oversight into L3. Maybe it's time for L3 to go

Upper management is poor and half the problem. It is filled with “friends” of the CEO who are not qualified. Most programs are in the negative and continue to over run their budgets. Morale is at a low. This is probably the beginning of the end for L3 Harris in Londonderry.

Any word on the March layoffs? That sucks...
Are they going to shut the facility or just replacing older workers?

SLC? If you're a white male over 40 you're gone. If not, good luck.

I've seen this happening in Clifton too. Nearly every Caucasian male over the age of 50 has taken another job or early retirement. The actual work is not being done by anyone! Payroll, benefits, and even many aspects of human resources have been outsourced to third parties who are not adequate enough to handle the demand or the caseload. The result is often delayed compensation or no services at all. There are probably going to be many more lawsuits against this company by current and former employees, buckle up Chris kubasik.

This is just sad. I worked there when insight was a private company. I had a good team, and a great manager. Corporate policy changes made me miserable so I retired. There is so much talent , they should hold dear, but they do not care.

Hiring policy is obvious. Almost no one over 30 being hired even though they have tremendous experience. And the new grads sit on their phones all day and do not know what they are supposed to. And then they often quit to get a better job. "Quiet firing" for many older that remain.
