Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Any leaders in Tech you trust?

They keep saying no layoffs. I don’t trust that’s the truth.

Not going to name my leadership, but absolutely yes.

My network is dead. 6 departments worth of leadership, gone. We’ve had some crazy turnover. An absolute bloodbath started from the top.

I do not trust almost anyone in Tech "Leadership", can get rid of 75% of them and few would notice

Define leader? It's not because someone has the title they suddenly are a leader. Most leaders I had a Nike were actually only followers looking upwards.

They are too busy being worries about diversity hires to hire qualified people in leadership roles.

Last layoff they were saying “no layoffs” even as they taped paper up in the fishbowl meeting rooms.

Cards were held close to chest until the last moment. Ground-floor leaders barely had any time after being informed.

Don’t assume your senior leaders are in the know

Tech has really been the only one who has really over hired in my opinion (at least from my view point).

I wouldn't be surprised for small trimmings or hold on hiring and let attrition do its work.

We ain't Google, Microsoft or Facebook level of overhiring but we did some back last year. Fortunately, we lost out on a lot of people because we weren't the highest bidder. That bolds well for us here.

only time will tell. I know its difficult, but its what it is. I clearly remember someone saying "be worried, but not panicked" back in Oct.
