I was asked this week to come into the office one day a week and route support calls. I'm in Sales! They let go of key support people and are using us to backfill?
I was also told that the new expectation is that if I'm not on the road, I'm in the office.

I have zero sympathy for sales people in general but especially Fiserv sales people. They just sell core systems (DNA especially) to unsuspecting clients that are not equipped to handle the system. I’m glad. Let them take the support calls and talk to the poor clients they sold a bill of goods to!
That's what happens when you RIF 80% of your support staff. But hey, we really care about our clients!
I heard the same thing from a friend who is still at Fiserv. If you are a RM within 50 miles of an office, you have to go in two days a week and take service calls 4 hours a day, because they laid off all the service reps. Glad I left.
I’m a programmer and helping to close client cases. Yep. Doesn’t make sense.
Heard of a similar situation where folks in-sales support were moved to product management. And then over a 12 month period most were RIF’d. My advice is look for another job…now.
That's just a quitters attitude. A true salesmen would turn those support calls into sales.
"I hear you are having trouble with your core software, would you also like to purchase this ancillary product that will also have support issues?"

Yup. Same here. We are slaves to Fiserv. Do what they want or leave. They don’t care. They will just dump our work on someone else, who is foolish and naive (like us). They will continue to take advantage of us, because we let them. We need them. I’m continuing to look and will quit as soon as I can. Assuming everyone is doing the same.
