Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Any demographic info re the January layoffs?

Such as location, management level, age, job titles, ethnicity, etc.
You should ask that in your next AMA calls.

According to a serious study and some HR fiends all cowboys fans will be on the list, just go cheer for a soccer team in South America or Europe it will make it easier to find a new job.

I am not going to go so far as to say that I believe that race/ ethnicity is considered as a factor when making decisions on who is let go.

I WILL say that there is a POC on my non bargained for team that is basically invisible. Is never on team meetings/ calls. Is never available on Teams. Is constantly trying to be located/ tracked down by folks involved in the projects they are assigned regarding critical issues. This has literally been going on for years.

It's a bit of a head scratcher (but not really).

Middle aged straight white males will dominate the list.

As mentioned below, those surplused will get a list of those impacted, not by name, by demographic. For the person that said the list is based on performance, you are incorrect. The rank and stack may be what is submitted by a manager but that is not the only data used to make the final decision.

You’re ignorant if you think those that are layoff based on race, ethnicity, or any other demographic outside of productivity. Most supervisors are thinking “who can get the job done when we have less people?” It’s a hard thing to do and we understand that it’s not going to be 100%. But none of those other factors have a play in it. Where you are and what you do and what your job function do have a part though.

It's not confidential as far as age. By law, att has to send a report detailing the impacted group members job description, age and who was selected. I believe the report is sent to those impacted.
It's called ADEA report.

Do a google search on what demographics studies of who is let go first. Unfortunatley you won't be surprised. They always stick together even if they are trash but they are always the first ones to cry that things are not fair.

Sorry, that information is highly confidential. Only C-suite and HR have access to this data.
