Our call was conducted by VP from a script & when completed hung up. All level 1s were on the the first call on Tuesday. Interest in leaving surgery sent last night & cc’d to your AM & HR. You can change your original decision before 1/31, but 1/31 is the cut off date. Mid Feb you will receive a notice if you were chosen. VP stated entire groups will be Eliminated & if you are part of that group you will not be chosen to accept voluntarily leaving with a severance. The level 2s are mostly AMs with 3 exceptions. The 3 were on the second call stating they were not impacted. They did this so many times before attempting to not offer severance pkgs to those forced retired & that did not work out as they planned. If the Company did not continuously pay the huge amounts of $$ over the last 2 yrs; which should of been avoided, maybe the cuts would not be so bad. I assume AWG is AT&T Wireless/Wireline Group.

They already have a list of those the directors had to rank on who to keep & who to let go, before the calls. It does not matter you rated high at year end either. We were told on the call even if you select willing to go with severance pkg, you may not be allowed to take it if your entire group has been selected to go.

What is AWG? Is the scope of the Paradise surplus limited to level 1 only? I would not think so

Level 1s in Paradise org had calls today. There were 3 calls to cover all shifts. Level 2s are not part of the AWG. IIL survey to be sent today with cut off of 1/31. Notice of surplus mid-Feb with last day 3/3/23.

Anyone have details about the Paradise call? Title of post has me thinking BS since there is no confirmation like treads for other calls that took place today.

Our group reports up through Paradise. None of us received a meting invite. The very same chain of command said in Dec 600-800 will be cut. Very surprised no invite for us.

Not sure about the Paradise call, but ours was at AVP level and same as always. It was the scripted call that the business is going through challenges that require change, and we'll be going through layoffs and you're in an impacted universe, blah blah.

Read nothing into it further than that yet because they will first see the results of the 'interest in leaving' aka voluntary round before going the involuntary route.

Plot twist. The early calls are those that will be staying. Later calls are those being affected.

Ironic that there’s any organization at this company called Paradise.

Everyone in an impacted business unit at VP level will get the you're impacted call. Does not mean you're getting the boot. This is the first step and the IIL will remain open until 1/31. Post 1/31, the list of folks that were stack ranked will get to submitted to HR for Labor/Legal review. Individual employees will be notified mid February with an off payroll date of 3/3. The calls today are a waste of time.

Usually whoever got the early call will be let go

A couple in our group received an early AM invite while the rest of us received an 11am invite. At this point, all we can do is expect the worst and hope for the best.
