2500 is the ball park number but going by past cuts every year the last 6 years, the number will never be approx, the good news is that it always seems to be less than reported, so in these worrying times please help yourself if you are affected by getting the company to help you with time off for interviews and resume updating, remember don't suffer on your own, speak to someone who will listen, there will be brighter days ahead, God Bless..

Sorry Joe but you will be kept in the dark for the very reason you spoke of. You become a liability once you are notified so you would be escorted from the premises. They don’t want any hot heads running around. But just know we are all mad as he-l too. I do know quality is suffering as we speak, until people know where they stand , they are more concerned where the mortgage is coming from , how to take care of their children.
We are prisoners of our own demise unfortunately.
To add there will not be a public announcement of a specific # of individuals at each facility, just note if they call you on your off day or in to the office at the end of a work week you are one of the chosen ones. They will do it so it is a controlled transaction.
Pretty pathetic that a company of this size and revenue has no compassion or moral compass that they would rather string people along and squeeze the last little bit of hope out of people so the orders they do have get fulfilled…. And then send them on their way out the door . Stop keeping your employees in the dark . shame on you 3m !!! This is how corporations end up on the news for all the wrong reasons…. And enough to make the average Joe snap … he’s got a family to support does that matter to anyone at 3m other than Joe? He-l no it doesn’t
Aren’t people always available for jury duty?
My understanding is HR plans to inform local courts that layoff employees with severance packages are available for jury duty.
