How are you going to hire a team lead with no forklift experience I work in produce and I have to get a floor merchandiser every time just to drop my items because our team lead can't drive a forklift so he's just walking around flirting with bakery associate smhhh.

Drop your own stuff!! Problem solved
Flat pay rates now between FLM and BA, so there is no more excuse that FLM gets more pay so I'm not going to learn. Problem is, it should be a talking point during the hiring process. "At some point you are going to have to learn how to drive a forklift. Are you okay with that?". No? We can't hire you then. Simple. For any tenured associates (not leads), step up and get the damn license. If the trainer won't train you, go to your CM. Then, go to the MM. But I get it. Frustrating.
bout right
A lead without a forklift license is like t*ts on a boar. Useless
Same thing is happening at my club so I had to track down a floor lead to teach me so I could get my forklift license because team work don't exist at Sam's anymore everybody out for themselves.
I don’t drop sh-t for anybody. Learn how to drive and drop it yourself. I have enough sh-t to do.
I agree with comment before. Get your own license. Problem solved. That was a easy fix.
Get your own lift license lazy.
That's normal operating procedure. Most new hires will not look at a forklift because there's no pay differential. Then you have those who think we give out "forklift certifications" that they can go use at "temp services/staffing agencies"! If you start flirting with the bakery girls, that might make the TL mad enough to start driving a lift!
None of our team leads are forklift certified. None.
