Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

They are making irreparable mistakes

If a company lays off the best and the most capable employees while hiring some of the biggest mediocrity, as is happening here, I wonder what it all leads to? I hope the leadership does not think that it will be easy to correct the damage in the future.

All that matters is that the workforce is composed of diverse ethnic backgrounds. That always yields the best results.

Honeywell is not a business maintenance company. They buy and milk the cow. Businesses which don’t have legislation and regulations to support /mandate product use and businesses not protected by backdoor agreements simply wither and die. The rest press on pulling money from government programs. Nobody cares about the damage.. that was the plan all along

Why would it be stupid. IGS has very good products.

It is not about selling. It is about who will be stupid enough to buy Intelligrated from Honeywell.

SPS on the technology side especially the software has been a abysmal failure.
Starting from directors and senior directors and let’s not forget those arrogant fellows more concerned about showing off. As long as we have those kind of people… any corp will sink. They will figure out a “process” to go deeper into the ho-e and claim victory through the holy process…

I don’t think Trew even has the funds to buy a company like IGS. They may sell off to Toyota.

@3uzq
As I understand it, Amazon doesn't want to own anything. They rent/lease at least some of their distribution centers. I think it would be more likely that Trew would buy IGS since a bunch of former IGS executives are there now and are familiar with how to successfully operate in the IGS area.
@3fsk
I think Mexico is much more likely than China to support business in USA. However, we are sending equipment to China for a project and I wouldn't be surprised that Honeywell China copies it and then sells it in the Asia market. Or, I could see Honeywell spinning off the IGS China into its own company and giving it the IGS IP.

You can bet that Honeywell will do what is best for the executives and to heck employees and customers.

It would make more sense to send IGS to Mexico, rather than China.

Is Trew buying IGS firm or just rumors? I was thinking Amazon will buy IGS.

Trew is going to buy IGS for pennies.

Heard rumblings of more reductions across all SPS particularly NA sites, according to some it is related to preparation for divestments and full transfer of some businesses to Mexico, China and India. These are rumors mind.

@1qae+1kT9ebRc From some of the recent calls with SPS leadership I don’t think they are waiting until Q4. They are taking round 5 next month. I already had to give them my list!

I can only speak for SPS but it's toast. Q4 will be a bloodbath.

You don’t need well-paid talent to run a company into the ground and suck out all of the value.

I’m new here and have only been through this round of layoffs but the ones they let go from my group were the 2 most useless employees…

Just means they see no future for the business. doesn’t matter how good a race horse looks .. if they don’t win races they all go to the same place.

Leadership does not care about employees one bit. They are two-faced. Smile at you then stab you in the back.

Please don't get in the way of a short term bonus, strike price options, and a chance to walk away from the dysfunctional train wreck with $20M. That's the agenda, so please stop the whining!

I don't think they realize how f*cked they are in terms of being able to meet customer deliverables. There are very few people left who know anything. People with the only knowledge about products and past projects just gone. They can put as many well-meaning Mexico resources on some of the upcoming work as they want but it'll never get done.

what do they care? they're saving $$$ and as long as it appears things are working, they're getting paid and none of the blame.

Honeyfk doesn't care about quality, they prefer and want a bunch of yes-sir, follow orders types. It's getting dangerously bad. I was there for over 8 years, left last year, and it's probably the most mishandled and toxic environment and version of Honeyfk I've seen.

I noticed quite a few new job postings hitting LinkedIn for HW, some for people's role I know who also left, no mention of Hybrid in them, sounds like they're inching closer to 5-days on site too.
