Product group team cuts?

Confirmed someone I knew from client product group team was let go on Friday. No details on their severance.

I work in ISG networking support and am quite nervous for my future. Anyone have any guesses as to how severely specialist ISG teams will be impacted? We just hired 3 people back in November.

Dell let go of the people they determined used too many benefits and would continue to do so in the future. They are sinister. Don't fall for the "family" bullsh-t.
I'm surprised a class action hasn't been filed.

New hires usually COST MORE. You think those 2% avg raise for the last 15 years put you at market??

Most likely while older workers at Dell let go last year have started a class action lawsuit, and has filed an EEOC complaint for age/wage discrimination.

Basically kids out of College that have no dependants ,mortgage or large overheads and are happy to work in tech, take abuse and say nothing.All the while on a lower salary.

Odds are the new hires will be fine. Middle management is being asked to reduce headcount + cost. Naturally, the new hires cost less than a more tenure rep. 1 tenure rep = 2 new hire, the 1 tenure rep will be cut. Cost > headcount is what we are being asked when making the decision.
