Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

What question will you ask at the Town Hall?

How many different ways can we ask MW to try and explain the CIP factor?

That’s right @1aka. The real Q&A begins immediately after the cameras and web feed are turned off. That’s when my iPhone 14 Pro Max turns on and begins recording. If any real question and honest answer is captured, then it’s uploaded onto YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Reddit by 7PM that very day, published under my pseudonym of course.

90% of the questions are all screened, selected ahead of time by corp affairs and slotted into the Q&A to control the flow and so production team knows which video feed to cut to when. there will usually only be 1 unscripted question asked near the end (though that person might have also been pulled aside by a Corp Affairs person with a suggested question / coaching to not be disruptive). The real Q&A starts in the room after the cameras and web feed are off. get into the viewing party room with your local management if you can. ask the hard questions then after the cameras are off. In the end though, our execs are well trained in reframing and answering the questions that they want, so don't be surprised when you get a dissatisfying answer

I'd like to hear him explain the record profits, 75 billion buybacks and dividend hike versus a chump change bonus for employees. I'd like to see him take anonymous questions and not just softball questions. Hes destroyed this company for the employees.

What did you clowns think was going to happen? If you're a HiPot this isn't a problem, you'll be getting promotions as before as you work your way up the ladder. For everyone else, this is just another reminder that you have a job. If you find more money somewhere else than take it.

Send a clear message back to him, do not attend the townhall, and instead do a safety moment with your team. I got the message loud and clear that Chevron is an unsafe place to work - after all this is what we are being penalized for? Going forward, do everything as safe as possible, avoid any risk, ensure others are safe safe safe. I think this would bode well with the board and next year we will be a fantastic CIP - even if earnings (what are apparently mostly out of our control) are not as good.

I'd like to ask him why he hates his employees so much.

MW has single handily destroyed the company morale once again with his greed. He destroyed it with his constant layoffs and then does a double whammy of big stock buybacks and big dividend and then very little money to the employees for CIP. Hes a disaster for employees and a dream for the wealthy.

There will NOT BE ONE AUTHENTIC question asked during the town hall. I'm not even calling in for it tbh, an hour I can spend screwing off doing something else now that my effort is being adjusted to align with Chevron's standard.

If you're disappointed with CIP, wait to you see the raises! Keeping up with inflation? My a$$. I thought for sure he'd throw us a bone with a high CIP, given the record breaking profits that he and all the execs were compensated handsomely from on us working evenings & weekends to strive for that "EE". He made more in a year than many of us could HAPPILY retire with. Heck he made that in just in 3 months.

Do you realize your CIP decision turned thousands of us from optimistic and passionate to disgruntled and actively looking for work?

Five deaths this year is less than the 2004-2021 average (6.8/yr). Are we setting unrealistic safety goals for ourselves if we are calling a better than average year of fatalities a failure?
