Thread regarding MetLife Inc. layoffs

Y'all see them earnings?

Met missed its EPS estimates by 10 cents. Get ready to get reamed.

Don't worry though, we only bought back $3.3 Billion in shares last year!

@4yfe+1kYM4yUd There's a part of me that wishes I could listen in on that compensation conversation training. I'm sure it's a hoot.

@4kfe+1kYM4yUd Performance talks are this month. Your raise and bonus talk are in March. Why they don't do them at the same time is beyond me. This is the first company I've worked for where they do it this way.

LAYOFFS

They might need till March 8 to "train" the managers how to tell their people that the poor raises (negative relative to buying power) are actually pretty good!

No worries. If you volunteer enough hours, and record them with the company, you just might be eligible for the, wait for it, Presidents Club.

It's all bullsh-t, and it's bad for you!

Managers have been given their almighty authority from HR to reveal employee ratings beginning now and the bonus reveal can begin as early as March 1st. That being said, there are an overwhelmingly high amount of d-mb managers who play games and wait until the money hits the employees' accounts on March 8th before revealing. It's pretty petty, but the only "power" they actually hold. Good luck and may the odds be in your favor!

When do they announce ratings and when are the bonuses, hikes paid out, if any?

Layoffs are coming!
Can't blame or get rid of leaders. Wouldn't make them take pay cuts for bad performance. Wouldn't dare cut managers due to DEI. Somebody has to pay and be part of the salary dump to increase earnings. They have backed themselves into a corner. Keep forcing people into the office. Keep promoting weak people.

Money, money money for only shareholders. Expect the usual 1% COLA and pathetic AVIP. But there’s plenty of cash to go around. You are the “others”

Ah, perfect timing and the perfect excuse for what will be yet again, below market "competitive raise and AVIP". But plenty of cash on hand to continue to employ the d-mb and useless AVPs.

Wow we lost a lot of money in Asia this year. What's that about?

RTO is a dead initiative.
Companies like Google add Microsoft are not renewing their 26 story headquarters.
Companies late to the game here will lose.

Too busy trying to figure out how to cater to pet insurance customers who fit DEI and ESG criteria. Joke of a company cares more about PR and catering to every special interest group than they care about making money.

These people will blame it on not being back in the office too I'm sure. Get ready for reduced bonuses, no raises, and RTO.
