I think there is a lot said about dividends. On why we are paying dividends to investors and cutting employee pay.
IMO, not cutting dividend is the right move. No investor wants to hang around 2-3 years for Intel to turn around. The only thing holding investors is the dividend carrot.
The stock is cut in half. The stock likely is held by many retirement funds and other large investors. If you think what you heard today in cuts is bad, if dividend is cut, this stock would dump 30-40% more. And then it would be even more difficult to get out of that.
You cant cut dividend unless recession hits and everyone cuts dividend. One could argue, even not then.
If the dividend is cut, your already 50% down can go down 50% more....
