As the workforce has shrunk, it's become apparent the dead weight. Much of this weight is easy to spot with countless & pointless calls throughout the day. Are you deadweight?

Time to "ditch the dodo birds". Otherwise known as RINGERS!
I’d like to think so.
Hello, having been part of the three decades of growth, BA to BANM to VZW to VZ, and then a RIFF five years ago and get 2 to 3 requests weekly to return as a contractor all over the United States at higher pay (benefits from the contracting company not VZ). You'll hear the statement from Vendors & Clients that you have developed revenue generating relationships with, "There is life after Verizon!". I still own stock and Verizon is struggling, but having said that, Verizon, AT&T, Google, Meta with always succeed in spite of the Leadership and lack of Management (who properly coach, trains, and PIPs the employees) FACT: There will be layoffs and you can return if you choose (after 6 months to a year) HR will approve unless you were on a PIP when released. If you, take an offer to leave voluntarily, you CANNOT return it's in the paperwork you sign when you accept the voluntary layoff.
- Stick it out, more will come, (VZ was at 1 per quarter) for 17 years that you had to get on a call every quarter), besides there is NOTHING you can do about it so don't sweat it, there is life after Verizon!
Speaking of dead weight, Sticky Note Sammy's latest quote posting "Change is inevitable, growth is optional."
Companies like Verizon don't realize they might be saving a lot of money getting rid of all these experience employees , but its going to hurt them big time in this very competitive time towards our rivals. You need good people to steer the ship but now you stuck with a bunch of mo--ns.
Just a matter of time the ship will sink along with skinny jeans hans and his bs promises
@1wnu+1kYw1GST - Perfectly said.
This is EXACTLY how I feel and I couldn't have said it better myself.
@1wnu+1kYw1GST - SPOT ON!!!!!
This is exactly the problem with VZ, and probably other companies too.
I was laid off on 12/30/22 and my response to the self righteous person who wrote this and who apparently thinks that Verizon is only firing slugs who deserve being laid off is to say your time will come. I worked my tail off for Verizon and many folks were shocked that I was impacted. These reductions have everything to do with poor senior executive leadership in general, in understanding how to use resources, failure after failure to make strategic business decisions pertaining to products and services and too many long time Verizon Telco sales leaders that don't have broad IT experience that have been elevated by decades of internal politics to positions where they lack experience or capabilites to make sound business decisions in a rapidly changing technology and business environment. Good luck to the hard workers carrying water for the self righteous.
I have one badge for workforward so now I can do more unproductive blue jeans calls to be “in person” instead of just a quick phone call.
You can ideally tell productive someone is by their number of badges in their profile. Bonus points if they have 5 different time in service
Verizon’s workforce hasn’t really shrunk. Hans just replaced all of Verizon’s experienced, knowledgeable US workers with “cheaper”, inexperienced, under qualified foreign contractors. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
Hans is a jabroni.
Lack of training, direction, or any sort of info is a real problem. Sure go look at the online training tool with tens or hundreds of thousands of articles and videos many of which are outdated but no guidance whatsoever on what one should be look at or better yet concentrating on.
Can't you just Google how to convert a word doc to a pdf doc? No need to hand hold these ringers.
They are called RINGERS! Yes they will avoid work like it's the plague. Every workgroup has them, they spend their entire work day trying to map out any work activities to dodge. When layoffs are announced they run but they cannot hide. Why good productive workers tolerate these parasites is beyond me.
wait wait wait.. so the sign of a good manager is one that can convert a word doc into a pdf?? Go back to sleeping in your truck and plotting out your next FMLA leave. BTW have you hung your GED certificate on your living room wall yet?
The amount of dead weight around me is insane, I don’t have enough fingers and toes to count all the tech illiterate baby boomers who constantly need their hand held for basic tasks like converting a word doc into a pdf multiple times over. If you can’t spot the dead weight it’s probably you
I think the majority of people don't want to be dead weight. It's just a lack of training and a percentage of incompetent sr mgrs/directors. Infinite pointless calls is just a symptom of those two things and probably other things too.
