Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Inspire points

Hi. Can anyone confirm if Inspire points can be used after termination or can you negotiate for more inspire points in the severance package? I’m 50 points short of a new air fryer that I have had my eye on for months. If I am laid off, the new air fryer really could help smooth over that time between now and my next VP job. Thanks in advance!!

I'd agree with the rest to take a gift card, but if you're determined, order the air fryer and pay for the difference. 50 points is next to nothing in cash.

I'm more worried about losing RSU's than inspire points.

Before you leave, don't forget to use up all your health FSA too. You can purchase to the whole year's balance. Free money! hint: costco has good return policy

Yes, inspire points and other incentives you have earned are yours. It’s actually addressed in the separation guide.

That being said, I would go ahead and cash them in for whatever gift card you plan on using in the future or think you might. Having recently cashed in about 60,000 inspire points, I will tell you I found the Amazon gift cards to be the best value for the point dollar wise.

Hope that helps a bit.

Check to see if they have a muscle massager for the wife instead of toaster. She might like that better.

Thanks friends. Wife wants a toaster vs an air fryer. Tough decisions in tough times.

Notice is the 7th and walk out date is the 10th (in US) - so you should be good to use the points.

I have been gone 1 1/2 year now, cashed all my inspire points out for gift cards before I left, then you can use them later, my recommendation. First time commenter here, good luck to everyone who is let go, not the end of the world, treat it as a new opportunity to do something new.

No you have to use the points before you leave. As others said use them for vouchers as you can get more bang for your buck!

Look at the conversion rate from inspire points to Amazon gc dollars. You may already be able to get the air fryer via Amazon

You get way more bang for your buck if you cash inspire points in for an amazon gift card opposed to buying a physical object with points.

Compare them and you will see what I mean.
