I mean this with all due respect, apologies if this sounds harsh but my intent is to be blatantly honest and not intentionally mean: I hate how everything here runs like some badly managed college group project; where the culture finds it acceptable for 1 out of 5 people to read (and know) the assignment while the rest of the group (PE organization/scheduling group) gets by just bringing glitter and colored pencils to “support”.
Management would rather over work someone who performs above and beyond instead of holding the people that do the bare minimum accountable.
The PE department spends far more time troubleshooting the ping pong table then they do to support the shop floor. New PE’s aren’t even familiar with a Tier 1 board or how to go about escalating issues. Past Tier 3 there is no support; we are told to do everything we can until the floor is forced to fail by default. As a result, many operators are coerced into finding shortcuts that don’t align with various quality processes.
Our maintenance depart is understaffed, and the people they do have lack the knowledge to troubleshoot anything. It is obvious Honeywell has mentally checked out of caring about Torrance, but if the culture continues this way, we’re going to lose any of the knowledgeable people and be left with tournament level ping pong players, and event planners.
