Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Attention: hourly leads, key holders, and associates and texts, work related calls

If you are an hourly lead, key holder, or associate you should not be required to text, answer calls, receiving calls, respond to a stores accidental or legitimate alarms when the store is closed, answer calls from alarm company due to false or legitimate alarm, or having to make calls any members of management regarding work related issues when you are not on the clock, including the store manager without proper compensation, this is a flagrant wage and hour violation from Belk. Any of these type of instances must be documented and paid as it is a work related matter.
Belk is now requiring hourly associates to act as salaried managers under the “key holder” and/or “lead” title which is a basic hourly associate position. Please beware and document any cases of where you are not being properly compensated.

If i receive a call from any SM or manager. I clock in for 15 minutes for every call. Period. Also the constant schedule change ever week for associates are ridiculous. Telling them to go by the printed schedule not whats in reflexes. And being to to get on "group me" or teams on your phone is not gonna happen. Personal cellphone dont get ised for buisness purposes.

@px At my store every schedule that is posted gets changed. They put up a sign by the time clock (which is turned off now) telling us to not screen shot scheduled because it will change.

If you are hourly simply ignore any belk phone calls, messages or texts. Screen shot your schedule as soon as it is posted. Do not respond to schedule changes that are texted either, unless you specifically want to, if your schedule is officially posted on Reflexis that is what it is, any changes to your schedule are NOT a requirement. In fact, some H.R. and store managers have now been reprimanded for publishing a schedule and then making excessive changes to it. Hope this helps.

if you are hourly, you do not have to respond to texts, take calls, or even answer the phone. hourly positions clock IN and Clock OUT. when you are clocked OUT it means you are NOT on Belk's time. Period. Don't let anyone tell you differently.

Yes- constantly being texted about sth, recovery, and where is this? Where is that? Did you do this? Did you do that? Can you switch and work this? Blah blah. It’s too much.

It boggles my mind that some store managers never work past 530.
How, and why is this allowed? They don't have conference calls everyday that would require them to only work day shifts. Something is rotten in Denmark.
