The Canadian EDO program needs to go. I have worked globally including in Canada and always put in more hours than 40. Never took an EDO in Canada and was never offered one outside of Canada. Get rid of all the people putting in minimal hours. I am sick of doing their job for them.

Back to the original point. It doesn’t make sense to have EDOs in Canada. Why not require them to work a full week for a full salary? If it makes sense for Canada why not everywhere else in the world? Why does only Canada have EDOs?
Bro coming for sympathy but getting 🗑️... Why don't you go back to whatever landfill you call home, don't need your power point deck here.
@OP
This really sounds like a YOU problem. Bragging that you give free labor to a multi billion dollar company. Bless your heart. I hope you don’t come here hoping for a pat on the back.
Imagine bragging that you neglect your family to spend your evenings sending out valueless stewardship emails and PowerPoint decks.
We notice what time you're sending emails, and judge you for being the doormat that you are. Doubly so if you're in a non-technical role, so you can't even hide behind being passionate about the work; you're just crying for attention. It shows desperation, not dedication.
No one will remember you 10 minutes after you're laid off, which is inevitable for people like this.
Canadians are sick of you id--ts down there. Go be a wage slave.
EDOs are sacred, particularly if you’re a parent! The number of times I’ve used an EDO to get all my appointments and errands done while the kids were in school… and believe me most of us put in well more than 40hrs a week and those EDOs are earned.
My experience in the US was instead of EDOs, people took more time off during the week for medical appointments, house issues, and leaving work early before long weekends was standard… I’m quite sure it all is a wash in the end between US and Canada time off work.
How sh1tty and toxic a person can be instead of advocating for their own progress and advantage, let's just sc--w someone else. I hope your career rots in he-l. There's a special place in he-l for piece of sh1t such as yourself.
@OP why are you bragging about putting in more than 40 hrs and not recouping the time?
Hey! Look at me!!! I willingly work more than I am paid for!! Even when the company offers me an EDO to compensate for it I don't take it because the boots aren't going to lick themselves!
Lol why wouldn't you take the EDO??? That's you giving the company unpaid labor.
Darren doesn't need to tell you to bend over, you will offer it yourself
We are paid for 8 hr days but work 8.5 hr days and so get the earned days off. Note that the E there is EARNED.
Even if they were just extra unearned vacation days why would you try to take them away from your colleagues? Instead use them as an example to argue to get that yourself.
EDOs are unpaid. You really think the company wants to take them away and pay that much more out?! Good one...
Why do Canadians value time with their families, We Are ExxonMobil, your coworkers are your family. It's normal to PIP your spouse, and when they fail it's normal to separate from them, it's called divorce.
Shutup lol
Waaah, take away someone else's benefit that I dont get.
USA has lowest vacation time probably globally followed closely by Canada. There's a lot of countries where XOM operates including some of our low cost providers that have more time off.
Unos would be the perfect time to drop the hammer on EDOs with everything else that is going on. It isn’t like morale could get any worse.
