Here’s Well Fargo getting accused of union busting.
It's illegal for businesses to punish workers for talking about unionizing or trying to collectively improve their conditions in other ways, including comparing notes about work conditions, raising concerns or asking management for changes.

Depending on how this play out in court, will give even more strength to having Citi employees form their own union.
I think the Q1 layoff that’s coming will encourage a renewed interest in a union development. We will see. As I’ve heard the layoff will be a bloodbath.
This is yellow stone! You have no right here!
Citi Union head will be assigned by the boss and qualification is a friend of boss but lack technical skills to be promoted. So Union is needed. Promotion to head of union and so called voice of employee😂😂😂🤣😂😂
The “woke” community will drive this. Its funny because Citi responds 100% to the “woke” direction or needs but on this, it will bite them. Woke will help drive the need for a union. :)
Taken from another post:
I’m not a big fan of how invasive Citi wants to be in your life outside of Citi.
Get a Covid shot, mandatory.
If you have a part time job, get approval first.
If you participate in any political campaign as a volunteer, get approval first.
If you own a business, get approval first.
If you are on any board such as a technical review board outside of Citi, get approval first.
If you contribute $ to a political campaign, get approval first.
If you are a CEO or in the upper management tier, I can see the reason for some of that but for peon’s like me, no I can’t.
Oh, man…I’d so love to see this come to pass.
Not all union heads are yes men for upper mgmt. Those that are, are quite obvious.
This will not happen. In back office. The same people control everything. You want an union, fine but head of union is promoted by the same management. Just another way to give their friends more power. Same as voice of employee which is the voice of brown nose! All kinds of show!! Thumb up!!!
It's time we get paid for all the hours we work. Executives and stockholders are getting rich off you working all the extra hours for free.
I read every now and then someone state that no one works 16 hour days.
This is not necessarily true. Maybe not every single day but yes, me and my group often work 12-16 hour days 1-3 days per week. Some weeks its just 12 hour days but yes, 16 hour days depending on your group function does happen.
A union would help curtail some of that or pay 1.5 to 2X salary for hours worked past 8 hr which would be great. Citi has gotten away with NOT paying extra for hours worked past 8, its time for the pendulum to swing back into the direction of the employees.
Now this is interesting. A buddy of mine in a different location said that there’s a group at his location who is looking into how to try to start a Citi union. The pitfalls, pro’s, con’s, legality etc…
Keep the momentum going!
I can see this happening in the future. Maybe years from now but I can see it happening.
I guess that’s one way to get Citi to adequately staff to keep from over working their employees. Yes, sign me up.
I hope the rumors turn into fact.
I hope so. All my work mates would be on board with it. A more fair or steady bonus, less or reasonable hours. No more 12-16 hour days without adequate compensation. It’d be nice.
I'm hearing rumors.
I’d so be on board with this.
Do some research, talk to your co-workers. Take back the power from the people making millions.
I’d unionize. Count me in. My colleague have been talking about that for a while now.
This board is permeated with:
“my role makes money therefore I get a large salary\bonus”
vs.
“I’m in a business as usual role that doesn’t generate revenue therefore my salay\bonus is nothing and I’m expected to work long hours”.
Being unionized would certainly level the playing field. It would certainly put a halt to long hours. So yes, it’d be a nightmare to upper management.
Keep this thread going and watch them start scrambling.
Yes. All the CEOs of the 7 biggest banks testified in congress a few months ago. When asked if they would not interfere with unionization not one agreed to do so. They all want to break unions.
