Why even have a metrics based vcip when the numbers behind its "calculation" are well shared, tracked, or advertised. We used to have a vcip target tracker updated every quarter. Now as the excuse is more of a calculated vcip, they provide less accountability. Leading to oddities like the financial payout being less impaired than last year, yet with a lower payout. Can they just be honest and be straight up and say the vcip numbers will just be lower than historical moving forward to save the company money, and indirectly, lower morale?
@7t6 nailed it.

This is based on Lashier saying that our performance reflects all that has come together over the last 4 years of his leadership, and our stock price doing quite well, and the board getting a big bonus recently. It would be a HUGE morale boost for employees.
The reality is we will likely never get more than 150 again. 130 is a stretch even. We will probably hover around the 110 to 120 range in good years.
No way will it be more than 125%. This company is really tightening the belt.
Let’s take this to polymarket. Maybe somebody can get lucky here.

135-140 is the long term average I think. I suspect it comes in around there. Earnings this year likely miss again (and yet again below the midcycle earnings KM loves to discuss). Safety will be full payout saving us some. And full payout for high performing org as Andr3z will claim victory on all things HR related.
In the end, all is fine. 130+ is a great result and something we should all be happy with. We don’t work for an industry leader and should not be paid like we do.

VCIP i wonder how many people really know why and how it got started?
133, since 150 is the new unspoken max, rather than the listed 200.
100
Guaranteed less than 130
140-160 probably.
Good safety performance, and they want to keep up the "wow we've done amazing work and saved a bazillion dollars with BT" schtick and keep up morale after another site shut down, so I think it will be decent, but they'll trot out the "we still have a lot of work to do" line, so I wouldn't expect it to be >160
