Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Why do store managers and/or HR need to be in store at 6am

Why are store managers and/or H.R. need to be in the store at 6am if they are not picking, packing, or on a call?

Shouldn’t H.R. and the store manager be in store when the majority of associates are actually working ? It makes no sense for an H.R. or store manager to leave the store by 2 or 3.

Human Resources should be working 9-5 not 6-2 or 7-3, they need to be in the building when the majority of associates are working. If they are not available associates, they are not really Human Resources.

@n4 all good… but when your RVP don’t realize a brown nosed su-k up that’s kind of hard.

"bc they are there helping you with your functions bc you can’t seem to get them done. There is no reason in the world for an HR person to be closing the store. Get real! What HR person do you know that does this? Get over yourself and get to work. Stop being lazy. Do the job you signed up to do and stop worrying about everyone else’s job."

HR and actually the store manager could quit and not be replaced at my store and it would actually run better, and probably make better numbers.

HR is really useless now. They don’t do anything but, put employees through training. That’s about the extent of their job.

If you are in the store between 6-8AM, you should be setting the sale, processing the truck, recovery, putting out frieght, picking, packing, cash office duties, or housekeeping, if you are not doing one of those tasks you should not be in the store that early. HR needs to be in store during normal business hours and should not only be working day shifts, store managers should be working a mix of mornings, nights, weekends, and mid shifts also. If you feel that some people in your store (including the store manager) are working an unfair schedule, you can contact your RVP or HRBP through the excel line. Hope this helps.
