Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Not likely that GE guys HC when it is trying to break itself into pieces.

But expect the exodus of GE hires into 3M to accelerate. Whether people here like it or not, GE leadership is revered by most board of directors. Once people like Monish got hired in, you should have expected a hiring surge. The one big fail off was the woman who left in the last few months, amid the hoopla of her hiring a few years back.

GE leaders are leaving their company so they can help break this place up like they did at GE to unleash value. If you think the last few years were turbulent, buckle up.

Will HC get purchased? Possible, I'd even say likely.

Will the buyer be GE? No way.

My wild speculation is that a private equity company buys the business when separates the divisions for sale even further.

HISD I think will be first separated from the others, the business model is too different.

MSD might stand alone long term (less likely) or get sold to someone like Owens and Minor, Berry, or Cardinal (more likely).

OCSD and SPSD both will probably get sold off to other firms in their market spaces.

SPSD to MilliporeSigma or ThermoFisher is my bet. There is an off-chance Danaher buys it and merges Pall's biopharma business with Cytiva and SPSD to make a fairly dominant company in biopharma filters.

3M is heading toward bankruptcy and finally divestiture. 📉

To start with, not sure if GE can save its own skin?

Nobody wants it now. What makes you think they’ll want it when one of the most profitable portions of it goes away? Whether you realize it or not 3M is on track to no longer be in business before the end of the decade. It’s a fact!

Any company purchased by GE would be DOA. So yes it makes sense. Monish would be the CEO of HC company. He would then get a mega millions golden parachute. And 3M HC company would be mismanaged by GE goons and employees tormented even worse than 3M employees are today.
