I did a drive by almost every day at good ole dump macys and i notice Black friday its was packed and that weekend everything taper off. Now since Blackfriday its a ghost town with 2/3 of Parking lot Empty. I think people only go on blackfriday cause its a tradition to do that but that is dying .
I think its a few reasons... 1: Your CEO is a clueless crook
2: They let go all the good staff that can run that place like a top to be replace by no one working or poor workers in a busy dept and people get frustrated and just order online and walk out
3: No one wants to go to a mall any more..
4: Weather , High gas prices. Inflation . Covid and mall shootings keep people at home
5: Macys is a beaten down dinosaur that nobody cares about anymore
6: My client did not work nor will it ever work.
7: stores look like TJ MAXX now everything is disorganized , on the floor. looks like a flea market.
8: Macys no longer has any standards and has become a free for all
9: Employees are over worked , completely exhausted and drained mentally
10: shoplifter paradise

- Stop the horse and pony shows.
Just show up and see what a real day looks like. Also any real manager Should know their business on the spot. If they don’t why are you even paying them. What are they managing if they don’t know what their business is saying.
- EDPs are a bunch of self entitled brats and are cluess. You have tenured sales mangers develop them and they can do no wrong and end up being the tenured mangers boss within a year when they Job should have went to the tenured manager that trained them
- Backstabbing political and toxic culture in all stores.
Describes Ventura CA Macy's exactly.
- We do not need extended hours even in December. Most customers don’t come into the store before 10 am and they don’t come in after 9 pm or stay after 9 pm. Our mall parking lot has the most cars in it between 11am and 8 pm.
- We need to stop preselling. It is weird, confusing to the customer, and sometimes we can’t find the presale when the customer comes back in to pick it up. We often presell for 3 weeks ahead of the actual sale dates.
Love how you added the 11. 12 and 13. lets keep this going
Agree with everything above but especially the Back Stage comment. Those should have been stand alone stores like Nordstrom Rack. In store cheapens the overall brand. Macys has become 'affordable' so you can shop there and don't need the rigid Back Stage policies.
Do people really shop at Back Stage? No coupons and the prices are the same as the regular store. Macys F&F came through for me this season. I appreciate how it was extended & I bought more .
- Macys got rid of designer labels in most of its locations, they thought they would increase profit margin by selling their own label brands which has not worked out for them. People unaffected by current inflation and have money to spend and want designer apparel are not shopping at Macys. They are going to SAKS, Nordstroms or Dillards.
- ISM has destroyed employee engagement and a sense of pride in stores.
- People who want to shop at Macys for an experience do not want to see the mess that is Macys Backstage. If a customer wanted to shop for outlet merchandise the would have gone to an outlet retailer in the first place.
