Thread regarding Optum layoffs

My work ethic is going to change

This Friday when I have my performance evaluation, if I do not get a merit (haven’t had one in two years) I am totally giving up on my work ethic. I can no longer let this team think this is okay and that I will continue to work hard. At this point I’m blaming direct manager and above them. I’m tired of us always blaming this man behind the curtain. Our managers are agreeing to this and they are at fault at this point too. Them just agreeing and going on with their day while they get $20k bonuses means they are at fault. I suggest you blame them too.

Goodby and good luck!
My intension is to put in my 2 week notice Friday at my YIR. Assuming I don’t get laid off tomorrow. The severance is not worth it for me to continue to be used and abused by this company. Enough is enough for me. It is only going to continue. They couldn’t care less about the members or employees.

As a person that scales back after my review for 2024, and then got another “3” despite busting my a** - also be prepared to be laid off! After 12 years and extremely active in the “culture” whomp

I learned more than two years ago that there is absolutely no gain to giving more here. I absolutely coast and I can guarantee my “manager” has never even looked at my self input on my review. I often wonder why bother with setting goals because even when I reach or surpass them, it results in nothing anyway.

First time in my career, I started personally experiencing mental health issues related to the job. Zero merit increase was yet another sp-t in the face. Therefore, f this company and this job. Actively looking and applying. Absolutely willing to take a pay cut for healthier culture and environment.

It's top down. They tell managers what scores to give and change merit and bonuses. Your managers have basically no input. This is coming from executive leadership. They cannot have the stock under 300. They have no plan other than to cut costs to the bone and some sort of AI dream.

Finally getting a clear picture of what managers do at this company. They are merely employees put in place to ride shotg-n on other employees using scare tactics and any other means to make sure that you toe the line meanwhile they spout all the cr-p they are told by leadership. Not a one has any integrity or they would actually say something to leadership. But no they are hired for exactly what they do. And their main focus is to get themselves their bonus so they can pay off whatever ridiculous debt they get themselves into.
