The new 4 Day office policy comes straight from the top. AP conceived it expecting it will breed loyalty to CVE through attrition. Those who don't agree will resign thus helping achieve staffing numbers without expensive payouts. It doesn't matter to him whether top performers leave - everyone is replaceable. Except him.

Agree 100% with @hlpx+1kkwltz8
This is the culture embraced by CVE:
- - AP is a drunk - just look at him.
- - TV required his staff to be 4 Days since the spring.
- - NR is a yes man.
As a January 26th cast-off I can honestly tell you - the grass is GREENER across the fence.
There was no cherry picking of data, AP and JM hated people WFH and it was very evident in townhalls when they had to comment on it. No matter what the data showed there were changes and monitoring coming to the WFH pilot, and they weren't going to benefit staff.
I’d like to see the data on which business units weren’t adhering to the 3-days in the office model? Rumors are that HR, Finance and some other groups were basically WFH the whole time and skewed the numbers. I’d also like to see the data from July-August versus the Sept-Dec period. I believe there was some serious cherry picking of data used to justify this move to 4 days/week.
As an employer:
- - Chevron was #1
- - Husky was #2
- - Cenovus is barely above CNRL
I worked for Chevron where we earned every second Friday off with a compressed work week. Damn I miss that. This CVE plan where weeks with Stat Holidays require remaining four days in the office is cr-p.
CNOOC ordered their workers to come 4 days a week not 5.
They also have compressed schedule so they can lunch fir 15 mins and get 2 nd Friday off. CNRL are “workaholics “ they been forcing 5 day work schedule from a while ago.
CNOOC has ordered everyone back into the office five days a week.
I want 5 days in the office. Make it happen AP!
I for one will be enforcing the rules to the T. It is how I survived January 26. It is how I maintained a walled office while my counterparts are in cubicles. Ha I have one report who I convinced needs to spend more 'face time' in Lloydminster despite them having a young family at home. Cenovus is great. Long live AP !!!
Ah but that’s where you’re wrong cuz it’s not that everyone’s replaceable it’s that a company that’s got a bumbling executive and a bigger bumbling CEO has no room for high performers. They only want insecure yessirs reporting to them, and they in turn just want yessirs working for them and so on. Where does culture start? At the top. What culture does AP and his bumbling class want? People who keep their heads down and keep making the boss man rich.
