Fiserv used to have its pick of top candidates. Now the pay and benefits are so poor that only the people who can't get hired elsewhere will take jobs here. Half the workforce is undervalued and it shows in the quality of new hires.

@em My experience with many of the offshore devs is there are a few workhorses that are good, and the rest are nepotism protected and can't work independently, troubleshoot a bug, or solve any problem for their life, and overburden other devs.
AI will replace a lot, don’t let them fool you. Talent won’t matter in 3-5 years.
We don’t even need talent, we literally just need people who know the basics of what they are doing and better managers. This business is barely keeping the lights on, we don’t need some $$$ FANG level dev, we need devs who are just willing to run a damn CERT test, know how to read logs, and (ideally) are onshore so we don’t have to wait a day anytime we need anything done. Many of our tech folks are painfully mediocre and less productive than even a brand new college grad would be, all while sitting there with director or VP in their titles.
False news. Mike is doing all the right things. Takes time to undo the sins of Frank and Guy.
@a4 wtf why so many? That seems crazy.
The BizigLAMO effect. Now he's off to destroy Social Security like he did Fiserv.
FIS employee here- we are laying off thousands- do not come here under any circumstance. Total layoff numbers before it ends will be in the 10s of thousands according to multiple people.
Why would highly capable engineers come here? Fiserv has lost its standing. Their word is meaningless!
