Harassment from coworkers, complained to HR 2 months ago, no investigation, fired me last month along with 45 other IT people. Is it a retaliation? Probably not.

I was looking to get laid off 5 years back and a former IT VP told me to make a complaint against my then Director so they would put me on the list. He was guilty, but I was let go sooner, yippee I got a great package! And then he was let go not to long after, however the severance package had been significantly reduced. So yes, retaliation. HR is there to protect the company not employees.
Unless if you are being harassed based on your identity (religion, s-x, orientation, age, etc.), it's not harassment. So it's OK for your coworkers to call you stupid. This is in the training videos you have to watch every year. Basically, HR only cares if it's something the government would get involved in.
