So they are making the collector at store i work at stay till 9 pm to do runs in the hood by himself don't seem right while rest of us go home for a problem the company made themselves with the approval engine . I really feel bad it's not even his fault there people just take off these fully approved people .
Worked here for a month worst job I've ever had quiting soon.
Any place that is not RAC is a better place to work! Leave that poor work enviroment!
The level of harassment is crazy the dm texts our personal phones constantly get least 50/60 texts a day I frankly can't even do my job to busy replying to texts .I so can't wait to find another job . Work in a Connecticut store I just started to block him half the staff also he texts everyone all day it's the most ridiculous thing .Sometimes I ain't even at work and receiving text all day worn-out from this job .
All ready short staffed and they want way to much done . A alot of employees are questioning their jobs at this place almost everything is unrealistic they ask .
Yeah I feel your pain I got a call back for a interview somewhere else myself so praying everything works out then I will be gone quick fast .
Ge-z tomorrow is Monday have to go back . After this past weekend how desperate they are for sales and stress the he-l out of everyone I just don't even want to return who wants to work somewhere were you are stressed all day. Probably the most harassing job I've ever worked out all day we get a million texts from the dm place is a Joke they we put out the sales because we are desperate and they normally take off you had that feeling and then it happens but hey got the sale on the day .
I'll tell you something they need to straight lower weekly rates all i see is prices going up and people returning or running out the door . Phones to Playstations 50 plus a week dang near 60 if not more x4 over 200 a month wonder why people fall behind and then its impossible to get into contact with them afterwards they already feel like they put enough into it to own and and bye bye product . These are tough times we are in . Dealing with already cash strapped customers is mega hard as it is . I have customer can't afford 20 a week and make up crazy lies and have to chase them everywhere feel like I should be get bounty hunter money not what they pay I have 3 months and this other job is going to start hiring and I am out.
They do that at my store also send you out to dangerous spots at night by yourself to collect money or a pickup I am leaving soon anyway thankfully.
Had a meeting Monday talking about a 21.9 open for Mondays and we have to get it no matter what my co worker and myself call 4 rounds and barely get people to pay there is no way of getting that open the way they are making us sell to anyone looking that thing approves anyone all they do is cancel their auto pay card or lock the card can't control this at all I don't know what in the world they expect. When we hear him talk he talks like they are just going to pick the phone up and pay like it's that easy dm makes it sound so easy and those get punished if they don't hit a 6.9 by making people stay late on a Friday is ridiculous at my wits end with this place seriously.
They need to let go of some of these old dms they treat staff like pure trash reason for high turnover. They are stuck in some strange time were times have changed people don't take you talking to them like they are sub human. I worked at rac for 6 months quit last summer worked in a Connecticut store the guy was so bad .
RD position will be eliminated, most retailers larger than RAC have a DM reporting to a RVP so look for a bunch of DMs to lose their job to an existing RD.
I try hard to get sales but never get a hey good job or anything feel super unappreciated just hey can you get more. I want to fi those surveys they send you but I heard your a target then think that's why alot don't even bother she should just look on here this is what your co workers have to say about the company.
Now is the time to leave rac if you are thinking about leaving. The job market is full of 15-20 dollar/hr jobs with way less stress involved, those will gone soon.
I feel as ever since we switched to the decision engine things have gone downhill . I remember having to verify people calling landlords and refs and alot of times they will tell you they haven't paid rent and or being evicted and ref are a help also I saved many tvs and game systems from being stolen . Now however a so called approved person we don't do that level if at all any verification been told this since it came out however the amount of so called approved people are skips or near that point have moved quit their jobs well you get the point or even never worked there . Someone said on here talked about weekly prices and I have to agree they are too high ps5 when all said and done nearly 50 bucks a week can't even sell them myself and if I do sell one they end up skipping falling behind on payments don't communicate with the store its a loss . Dm store managers are quit to write people up for sales goals or collections when in reality it's not their fault alot of people ain't trained right and there is a HUGE HUGE turnover rate no one likes the job or they get overwhelmed no one asks how can we help you they just right people up to the point they just quit there is no understanding the reason all stores are constantly short staffed and they expect way to much to be done I understand why people are quiting left and right no work/life balance not trained right expect way to much to were someone feels overwhelmed everyday and like someone said on here stressed everyday also someone the dm get mad and walk around swearing I agree one dm almost hit my co worker one day because she was new she quit already but was new and she messed up on something he went crazy on her and he acts like this everyday he says he gets harassed everyday from the company all hours of the night because they give his personal number out for collections to solve account now he got people calling him all hours of the night asking simple questions he said he's going to have a stroke from this job he's a pi---d off guy everyday of his life and we get the brunt of it and I must admit it I plan on leaving here myself I don't see this company in its current form doing well even when I am calling slt its full of past due skips or people you close out one week to have them back on the next week oh the kicker the decision engine has been approving skips in front of my own eyes thats when you know this company is going In the wrong direction best of luck to those who stay least when they start to close you can collect when they go out if anyone actually stays that long like I said turnover is really bad here to put it in terms just my store last year about 18 people in all different positions
I too can't sell anything at these weekly rates they are just too high . These days are becoming more stressful then ever I know I can't be happy at a job were I am stressed everyday thinking about my health and leaving .
Hey people want deals they see they are getting charged 5× retail they either skip or return or walkout . These times we are in now no one has money and rac charges a premium for everything . What I think is most hilarious is these people never paid a bill their entire life ontime that's why they ended up at rac but corporate thinks these people will pay them ontime lmao glad I got my call got the heck out of there. I remember the dm just constantly harassing us for sales not 1 person likes this guy either . He swears at us stomps around play is run by a bunch of straight clowns 🤡
They act like people want stuff and if u get alot of sales half the time they ain't on auto pay and fake I agree they are so expensive I have people that will come in and walk right out I see alot of job openings also doesn't look good people are finding other jobs fast they see what's coming forsure .
I really agree I am literally begging people to take something home their prices are just wayyyyyyy to high .

This company ain't going to have a staff heard their putting everyone on plans if u don't meet them your fired everyone from sm to the delivery people good luck I am waiting for the dm to come around I am applying at other jobs you can't control how many sales I get let alone the collection guys making people pay its impossible because we keep selling to b-m people calling sales half are past due people or skips .
Way I look at it it's there fault credit is like this and now they want the employees to stay late and be punished for their mistakes.
Nobody wants these jobs at rac there trash jobs . When they do hire someone there always mo--ns with 3 brain cells . That's why I quit after 3 years kept telling my boss and he was friends with the guy always did all the work look up this guy's in the van with the ac on and I am putting a bedroom together in a 90 degree house had enough found something else left .
RAC had decent people through the years and have fired most of them. Very few decent people left at that place. Got to be a snake like the ceo if not your fired, they don't want real numbers or results...
Yeah I've been with rent-a-center for a month most sleaziest jobs I've ever had afraid going into one of these home I might catch bed bugs or roaches and the level of pure harassment you need to do to get them to pay is I don't even know if it's legal or not got me texting people 10 time in a row calling them non stop going to there home afterwards job ain't for me will be looking for something very soon no where in the interview they said I had to do all this to get some to pay went to one house seen a g-n on the table though the window I didn't even bother knocking it was in the worst area to you don't go there at night it's just known .

I agree at the point people are just stealing . Mainly ps5 and computers. And the system says approved!
Should get rid of that stupid decision engine got to be costing the company a boatload on skips .. See fully approved people skipping cuz we don't call fully approved people call the job,ref they always say the same thing either they don't know who the person is or they got fired a month ago or the ref say don't rent to them after the fact they will steal your stuff
