Thread regarding Thrivent Financial layoffs

April 2026 Layoff

Got the email today, looks like 40 ish prone across business development and advisor practice growth etc.

What the he-l is going on? Some leaders who I know and I like. If we are trying to grow the wealth management business, this seems short sighted.

I joined a while back from a competitor to escape their layoffs and now it’s happening here. Seems pretty dispassionate.

@dyy they have been laying off people slowly in small numbers so that no one notices it. IT layoff is happening this week and next with Aug first week as last working day!

There is real work happening in IT. they simply talk about products and product strategy and keeping changing product team names every 2 - 3 months. Paying high $s for that kind of jobs!! Does not make any sense at all
