The Lewiston City Council is reviewing options to reduce its proposed 2027 budget. City officials presented three new proposals to further lower spending. These options include laying off three or eight government employees. Another proposal involves eliminating take-home vehicles for police officers. Councilors have not yet made any final decisions on these budget cuts.
