Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

I'm so tired of all this

Made it through this round, but it doesn't feel like winning. This job is just about being afraid to lose it now. Nothing else drives me anymore.

Enjoy wasting the prime employment career years, playing a big game of thinking somehow each of us are in control of any of it.

@OP the answer is quiet quitting. I'm on my 4th year right now. I legit put in less than 15 hour weeks for the last 4 years and get by just fine.

So leave?

"...bad for morale and mental health" - sure, for the weak-minded, in which case...leave?

What's that? You won't/can't/don't want to leave? Then zip it and realize you have a job until you don't.

Now go study the Stoics.

But you won't do any of that b/c you just want to complain; you don't want to actually improve your situation.

This was posted on the Oracle Corp thread. They are going through the same experiences:

"I feel the pain. However, we are overpaid, over educated cry babies. Admit it and move on with life."

There is a lot of truth to this. People will learn this as they go into the job market. Compensation will be less and perks are becoming a thing of the past

Yeah the constant fear of layoffs is bad for morale and mental health.
