Eventually top tier locations will be reduced and reserve replacement will become a priority. Probability that Oxy merges with another company in the next 2 years

@136 The words you are using, I don’t think they mean what you think they mean.
Most people who post here should stick to Reddit or discord.
@13a your thoughts on the Oxy questions first?
@136 are you using an app to translate into English what you are typing in some other language?
@133 Good points! Probably should have simplified the question and statement. But, dramatics sometimes illustrate and accelerates activity and change. This is especially true in organizations that are adverse to change or new ideas…simple
Oxy is too complicated and organizationally difficult to manage. Continuance in present bifurcated model will be tougher as assets mature, liabilities increase…a reshape is in order to define and align Oxy moving forward. What’s your thoughts?
@nr “you made unreal results and now the future is trying to balance things out”
“those that foisted this will soon be on a perpetual state of unease”
I’m going to work those into my next argument in order to sound educated and deep.
@gv this person knows...
@ma not spouting just manifesting…you made unreal results and now the future is trying to balance things out…the amazing onshore unconventional run will soon start to show cracks…and those that foisted this will soon be on a perpetual state of unease as first and 2nd gen wells start to decline and have mechanical issues…
It won’t be COP, they barely could do the MRO acquisition. Do your homework, instead of spouting cr-p.
Far from it. COP had nothing to do with Prudhoe. Just like Willow was under their nose for all these years. Took an independent to actually do some real work and find the latest discoveries, which they copied for Willow. COP is on fumes with a dismal history and little to be remembered for when sold. Just like us here at Oxy.
Just like Oxy, COP has excellent people. Remember that the roots of the current COP were Prudhoe Bay which was probably the best engineered field in the last century.
You’ve got that reversed. Even Oxy people rate higher than the incompetent COP people with their stupid Lab and SPIRIT values.
COP have spent a long time getting rid of people like those at Oxy. Why would they want to bring that kind of mentality back?
Agreed - COP DVN etc won’t be around much longer. The buyer is CVX, they need more time to digest Hess. Will be good to clean house. The top 8 layers of OXY will disappear and most of the other folks will head to ENGINE.
COP won’t be buying Oxy. COP will be just like Oxy and be acquired, most ppl laid off, and only the desired assets retained.
It would be a good merger because there is little overlap.
If they don’t start building the new headquarters building soon - we will know then. How soon do we know the plan?
The lay offs would be massive, of Oxy people. Like Hess and CVX. Conoco would do the same too. And job market su-ks these days.
Won’t be a merger, it will be an acquisition of Oxy, and it will be just like Hess. Don’t count on being here just like the majority of Hess people were laid off. It’s for whatever meager assets Oxy has, not it’s people.
100%% CVX and looking forward to it
Probability 70% either Permian based or a major marriage like a CVX or COP
