Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

I'm Getting Excited

I'm looking forward to reading all about "return to office" four days a week tomorrow in this forum.

@f2 They really do want us to embrace the culture of our "partners" overseas.

@e1 , cleaning crew is scarce with return to office. Expect the bathrooms to stink and the open office cubes to not get wiped down..

@dt I understand the name plates, but how is that saving money on cleaning crews?

@dq , saving money on paying cleaning crew and name plates. The situation is disgusting.

What’s the reasoning behind not have assigned cubes?

@ba Zero self awareness of how awful they all look. Imagine being hated by 90% of an organization that has thousands of people working in it, and thinking you are still worthy of a paycheck after you destroyed and fumbled everything you touched. Then, when called out on by people who do actual real work, you lash out in a petty vindictive manner. Insecure sociopaths become like a vicious cornered rat though when things dont go their way

@OP the most disgusting thing is ELT all have fancy offices. The minions can’t even have tiny little cubes.

@am I love how they push the collaboration BS on us, but we aren't allowed to pick a campus to work at. You have to stay on your floor, stay in a designated "neighborhood" with all the same people every day, BUT no no no, you cannot have your own personalized cube. These sh!tbags in leadership will deserve everything that is coming their way.

@aw Yep. I think a lot of people had hoped ELT or PP would come to their senses this year and it wouldn't need to come to this. Too late! The damage has been done and leadershit has decided to double down on their own stupidity. Game on.

@ad Yes. Used AI to find law firms vs EJ and what for. Know things. Planning to quit and report wrongs. Toot toot all aboard the whistle blower express.

@a3 , I'm a tenured associate having to go to a campus further away from my house. I was 3 days and now like everyone else; 4 days of travel on a horrible highway full of construction.

I’m honestly not sure if you’re being serious because you’re about to be right there in the trenches with everyone and need the shared commiseration, or if you’re pulling up a chair with some popcorn to laugh at the chaos. If it’s the latter... bold choice. But regardless of the vibe you intended, let’s keep one thing front and center: there are a lot of real people being personally, deeply impacted by these sudden Return to Office (RTO) changes.

For many, this isn't just a minor schedule tweak; it’s a massive disruption to childcare, eldercare, budgets, commute times, and overall mental well-being.

Since ELT is seemingly obsessed with forcing this transition, let’s all just be compassionate kind humans. Just because ELT stripped our culture, we can still try to keep it going for the sake of each other.
