Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Is it possible to move hubs?

RTO is here to stay, we all know that. I badly want to move states. Does anyone have experience with moving locations, how did that work out? I will report to the office to keep my job of course, but I don’t want to live in this location anymore. We have team members that live in other states and report to their office even walking in and working alone. I don’t see why I wouldn’t be able to change locations.

@bt I believe what they meant was that any $$ adjustments will be made to the company’s benefit only and HR being the butthole they are will happily enforce it.

@bs Pre Covid is ancient history and not worth anything as far as understanding current realities of RTO "rules". Your assigned nic is perfect.

I will say this, an HR Business Consultant (that was their title back then pre Covid) did say this on a call with all Managers and Director.

If you move from B to F, you get no pay raise.
If you move from F to B, you will absolutely get a pay cut to match the compa ratio before and after.

It's not about the B or F specifically, just an example of what HR will do and won't do depending on the "direction" you move. This was pre Covid and therefore pre RTO but the message was clear.

I think most responders are sharing the same message, but want to emphasize the point about Geo Location. If you are a D moving to an E, don't expect an increase to move you to the same rate. By the same point, if you are an E and move to D, don't expect a decrease in pay. But, do expect the geo change to factor into your merit pool in the future as your future adjustments will be based on your new location on the pay band.

Depends on the area. In my BU we were told they'll only accept employees in one of four hubs, and I doubt they'd let you move to a higher paying geo code. Officially these decisions are at your immediate manager's level, but some BUs micromanage that.

Agree with the other posts on here. Managers are pretty good about letting you go to a job closer to you if there is one. The only thing is to find a department that has room for you to sit.

I intend to relocate to an area where there happens to be another Hub and my manager is fine with it.

I believe this is generally allowed. Probably will come down to your manager and their manager signing off on it.
