@b2 Here are the numbers YTD:

PSX: +42%
MPC: +63%
VLO: +57%

Talk about number of shares all you want, but this normalizes for all of that. The equity of Phillips 66 has improved significantly YTD but SIGNIFICANTLY lags the appreciation of our peers. Elliott, game on.

@ah d-mb. go look at the return YTD (to save you time, it is not pretty). Share price gap when it is growing is VERY relevant.

Okay, I hate to defend what's a rapidly enshittifying company, but this is the stupidest thing. Ignore share price, it literally does not matter when comparing companies, there's just less outstanding shares of MPC. We're within a couple billion market cap of MPC.
