I ended up getting formal performance feedback not long after suggesting during a meeting that product planning would probably run smoother if a few departments worked together earlier in the process. A mistake I won't be making twice, that's for sure.

I have a job because of chaos but innovation is what I miss. I'm tired of watching elite engineers getting a hold of the market. Too stupid to quit and join them borned in the wrong place and wrong time I guess
You are operating like the old Verizon, where new ideas were welcome. Those days are gone. Salute, move on and try to avoid understanding the logic.
Leadership wants planned chaos so they can come save the day....
@OP Sorry to hear that! ADs and above only want to hear happy talk especially in front of their peers and their bosses. Embrace the BS because candor will hurt your career advancement. That’s one of the reasons they only make vague statements that are devoid of meaning. The other reason is that they often don’t know what they’re talking about.
Don’t believe what’s in the credo and don’t believe them when they brag about being a straight sho-ter or a truth teller! A genuinely honest person wouldn’t need to remind you of it constantly because you’d notice it on your own.
The correct answer to leadership is yes, ma’am - yes, they - or yes, sir. They don’t really want your critical thinking. Just do as you’re told. Proud to be vz love where you work love what you do! AI is the how and EI is the why!
They don’t want departments colluding. Think of the possibilities! Walk outs, unions, strikes, etc
@a2 Ethics maybe, but don't take it to HR. They serve the "company", not the employees.
Once, while presenting to a senior leader, I discussed the roadblocks affecting the project. My manager did not raise any concerns with me at the time, but later included negative feedback in my year-end review, stating that I should not have brought those issues up.
Probably she was concerned that it reflected poorly on her that she can’t do her job properly.
Next time, I will take it to ethics and HR.
Do not acknowledge it at any cost.
