It's been this way for as long as I've been here, which is a long time. They announce it's available and give you a date it needs to be done by. Then leaders of various orgs say "Well, we want you to have it done by X date". Then the leaders under them pare it down more, and so on. It's not about getting a bonus for having it done, it's about NOT showing up on a sh!t list for it not being done. There may be some kind of 'bragging rights' at a senior level, who knows... but it's always been a thing. Annoying? Yes. But you can knock it out in like 1-2 hours, and you're paid to do it. It's not a big deal.
It takes like an hour on the side of your desk, relax
Biometrics Screening. I get those done when it's time for my next PCP follow-up which every 6 months. Maybe they only want to keep the very fit 24 yo staff. They need some numbers as part of the next RIF or ERP planning.
It has usually always come out in June. I believe the due date has been pushed up. My goal has always been to finish it by end of June and just knock it out. But this is a great question. The pressure of the training time is ridiculous.
My problem is with the biometric screenings. The new date is absolutely ridiculous! I miss the December deadlines. Why so much pressure?
