I am a Mufg Union Bank employee who works in IT risk management and still -00 percent remote from New York and New Jersey. Should I start looking for a new job?

My entire division was laid off in the PNW after the UB/USBANK transition. Walked in for a Tuesday meeting and left without a job all in 10 minutes. They fed us a bunch of corporate BS since March of 2022 then without executed everyone that followed.

It’s already happened. They laid off all mortgage and HELOC - approx 500 people. They keep commercial and SBA supposedly and the branches. Typical bait/switch and the most insensitive delivery yesterday. They should be ashamed ..you know DEI and cr-p

I am a Mufg UB employee who was mapped to US Bank prior to legal day 1 of the acquisition. My IT group works 100% remote from New York and New Jersey and there are no US Bank branches located near me where I can work in office. Any chance my team will survive the lay offs?

It was in the news that USB will be shutting the UB wholesale lending, winding it down by mid February

I have no inside information, but it's naive to think that there won't be any layoffs during 2023. The timing is water cooler gossip at present.

The Earnings Call for the Fourth Quarter 2022 is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan 25, 2023, at 8 a.m. CT.

Expect the Investor Analyst community to ask questions about layoffs, the Union Bank acquisition being "accretive or dilutive to (future) earnings", and how management plans to acheive the euphmistic "synergies" promised by acquisitions like this.

Expect AC and his minions to be prepared for these questions.
