I am asked to relocate to this year. But I don't have my team there. So, I asked for Dallas and it was unofficially granted. My husband has been laid off due to org restructure just 2 weeks ago and his health has gone down drastically, requiring at least 2 months to recover. I have asked for an extension for next year in current place but did not get granted, while my peers did not receive letters. If I don't relocate, i will lose my job too. Not sure how to navigate this with kids.

How bout buried service wire folks. Y’all might like it..
This pretty much explains the problem with corporate America, where how derogatory you male pigs think of ladies other than them being s-x objects. How would you like a line tech ba----g your wife while you are 5*8 su-king Stanley’s di-k.. Bozos!!
If a wire tech is too low class for you, maybe a digital tech would work. They usually have more book learning.
I think you have already decided; you really don't want to move. Take what AT&T is giving you and move on.
@OP IDK why there’s so much hate on this thread. Sorry that you’re going through this.
Your kids are on summer break now so this move won’t affect their school situation. You can take FMLA to care for your spouse. Or, If he’s able to manage staying at home by self, you can head to Dallas & find a good school first, then an apartment. Send kids to family or friends for 2 weeks if they are too young to stay at home.l ( if husband can’t manage them). Understand your commute situation & drive it during rush hour traffic for the experience. There are trains & bus to downtown Dallas from Plano & other areas- you can try that as well. You can do this @OP. Not a great situation but make the best of it for the sake of your family.
Go on one of them call in dating singles search things in the local classified. When you move on from sick weak boy, ask the applicants if they would be ok climbing ladders and doing utility work in the heat and working a-lot of OT before you give up your trashy sn---h.
Would there ever be a good time to be terminated from a job if not your choice?
Dump the loser, find a healthy husband who can toil in the hot sun making good prem tech overtime pay while you stay in air conditioned comfort spending money you don’t have. Life is not easy, maybe you don’t need a job if attractive..
@a9 happens all the time. If they aren’t paying you to move then you are already on the short list for future reductions.
@af , Spot on. Let’s remember this is the type of “crisis” situation they’re desiring. Anything to cut #’s (sans severance).
Something sound amiss with this.
You were the only one on your team told you had to relocate? Hard time believing that…? Is everyone else already where they are supposed to be?
Anyway, rest assured that no one gives a flying flip about your situation. I am not saying that to be a tool bag; just hoping you do understand that no one in your management chain gives 2 shites about your family, or your predicament. That’s important to understand.
Good luck to you. If your post is legit, it’s clear they just want you gone. But I don’t think it’s legit and/ or something seems to be missing.
Eh, it has. Maybe not 2 months, but I do know a guy who moved to Atlanta in October and was gone in February. It was not performance related; it was a 're-org.'
“I had a coworker who was asked to moved to Georgia. he did, just to be fired two months after his move.”
Never happened.
